Herman Sorgeloos has been Rosas’ house photographer since 1984. The exhibition is an unequaled collection of black and white photographs that is perhaps the most complete visual record of twenty-five years of Rosas. Herman Sorgeloos is not a photographer who likes to manipulate circumstances; not for him are studio sessions or studied poses. He is a photographer who captures the present, the action on stage. He is simply a spectator, but one with a wider, more intense vision than most.
The exhibition was part of the large Rosas retrospective “Rosas XX” at the Palais des Beaux Arts” in 2002-2003, and has been exposed au Metropolitan Photography Museum in Tokyo in 2005 and other important arts houses. Now comprising some 200 photos, the collection is also available for theatres and festivals. For further information please contact Ilse Den Hond.
