Rosas, the dance company established by choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker in 1983, has been touring internationally since its very beginnings. The company performs on the world's most prominent stages for contemporary dance, and presents around 150 performances every year, predominantly abroad. The company is based in Brussels, on the Van Volxemlaan in Vorst. The site also houses the dance school P.A.R.T.S. and the contemporary music ensemble Ictus, making it a very vibrant place to create artistic work. The company’s activities are realized by a motivated and dedicated professional team. ROSAS IS LOOKING FOR A PROJECT MANAGER DEVELOPMENT AND/OR PARTICIPATION HALF-TIME OR FULL-TIME
to follow up on our assignments as part of the management agreement with the Flemish Government
JOB DESCRIPTION
You are part of a small and motivated team and are responsible for the following tasks:
- As one of the company’s Project Managers, you focus on a specific aspect of the responsibilities assigned to Rosas by the Flemish Government, namely to unroll the functions ‘development’ and/or ‘participation’.
* In the Arts Decree, the function ‘development’ is defined as follows: "the development and support of an artistic practice, a talent, career, or oeuvre. Process, research and artistic experiment take precedence over concrete output.”
* According to the Arts Decree, the function ‘participation’ entails the following: "the development and application of visions, concepts and processes that contribute to the creation of art or a more profound experience of art by means of active participation, taking into account social and cultural diversity.”
- This is a full-time contract if you apply for both functions, a part-time contract if you are interested in one of the functions.
- Within the framework of the management agreement with the Flemish Government and in accordance with the Arts Decree, you develop a vision for those functions and develop a plan for implementing a vision, based on strategic and operational objectives.
- You follow up on existing commitments and develop a plan to further integrate them into the activities on the Van Volxem campus.
- You write up a proposal and a plan to invite emerging artists and arts organizations to the campus as well as develop a program to accompany them in this process, for the function development.
- You seek out partnerships to increase participative artistic projects on the campus, while also making the most of opportunities on tour, for instance, to organize workshops.
- You follow up existing initiatives in line with one or both functions and originating from the artistic work of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, and you introduce new ideas in consultation with the choreographer.
- You consult on a regular basis with P.A.R.T.S., our partner organization housed on the same campus, to stay informed about emerging talents or participative projects.
- You are able to think strategically about the future of Rosas and of the Van Volxem campus, as well as practically, in function of concrete artistic activities.

DESIRED PROFILE
- You have proven and useful experience in a similar context.
- You have established an international network or can build one quickly.
- You are a good communicator and are organized and proactive.
- You are familiar with arts policy but also willing to take on and execute practical tasks.
- You can work well autonomously as well as within an existing team.
- You can work under stress and are reliable, efficient, and goal-oriented.
- You are multilingual and master at least Dutch, French and English, both written and spoken.
- You have a professional attitude and are comfortable working with MS Word, Excel, …
- You are enthusiastic about Rosas and interested in a job in the professional international arts field.
- Ideally, you possess a driver's license B.
ROSAS OFFERS YOU
- A full-time contract of indefinite duration for both functions
- Or a half-time contract if you apply for one of the two functions
