Why do people want to dance? What does dancing mean? Is it a celebration of life? Sharing your idea of beauty? Searching deep within yourself for what your body can do and what it wants to do?

For two years, French journalist and writer Laure Adler was able to ask choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker anything she wanted. She was also given access to the archives throughout that time and was able to follow the rehearsal process of several productions. De Keersmaeker tells her where she comes from, how and why she works, and how this work challenges and fulfils her. A profound and candid reflection by one of the most important choreographers of the past century on her way of working and her philosophy.
