A 10-day Rosas danst Rosas trip at Chaillot, Paris
Gepubliceerd op 15.09.2026, 14:00
This week, Rosas kicked off a special ten day trip for Rosas danst Rosas at Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse in Paris. From 10 to 17 September, the original version of the piece will be performed six times on the Chaillot stage.
Following this marathon week, on the weekend of 19 and 20 September, Chaillot devotes an entire "Chaillot Expérience Iconiques" to Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Rosas danst Rosas. The public is invited to immerse themselves in two days of iconic performances, discussions, archival material, and workshops.
At the centre of the weekend is MULTICAST Rosas danst Rosas, with 20 dancers spanning five generations of the piece — from the original cast to the youngest performers, and including De Keersmaeker herself.
Alongside it, the programme brings together:
-
The exhibition Sub Rosa *, charting the history of De Keersmaeker’s iconic choreography from its premiere in 1983 until today today, through photographs, notes, drawings, films and archival documents
-
SUPERCAST Rosas danst Rosas, an in situ version of Rosas danst Rosas performed throughout the theatre by 50 young performers — 20 students from the CNSMDP, 20 children aged 6 to 11, and 10 teenagers aged 12 to 16
-
Hoketus, the ever-elusive duet set to Louis Andriessen's score of the same name, danced by José Paulo dos Santos and Lav Crnčević
-
A dance workshop with Solal Mariotte
-
A screening of Thierry De Mey's 1997 film adaptation of Rosas danst Rosas
-
Videos from Re:Rosas!, the participatory project in which people of all ages from around the world dance Rosas danst Rosas. Enjoy nearly 700 videos!
-
A talk with Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, moderated by Laura Cappelle
-
An eighties DJ set with Sandy Williams and much more! Discover the full programme at theatre-chaillot.fr.
Ten days, five generations of dancers, and one Rosas — an exceptional way to mark this new chapter for Rosas danst Rosas, and an honour for us to see it unfold at Chaillot.
* The exhibition Sub Rosa is open an hour before and after each Rosas danst Rosas show, and all afternoon on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20th. Entrance is free.
