Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker

Work/Travail/Arbeid vertrekt van de eenvoudige vraag: kan een choreografie worden uitgevoerd in de vorm van een tentoonstelling? Als antwoord interpreteerde Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker haar dansvoorstelling Vortex Temporum voor de radicaal verschillende tijdelijke en ruimtelijke omstandigheden van een museale ruimte. Daarbij verplaatste de choreografe de voorstelling niet eenvoudigweg naar een nieuwe omgeving, maar herinterpreteerde ze de dans als een negen weken durende tentoonstelling, doorlopend toegankelijk voor het publiek. De originele lengte van de choreografie, ontworpen voor de gecondenseerde duur van een voorstelling, werd uitgebreid tot cycli van negen uur. Het resultaat is een project dat precies de materie en de condities die lang essentieel waren voor dans, in het bijzonder de strenge structuur en choreografische écriture waarvoor De Keersmaeker bekend staat, tot een geheel nieuwe tentoonstellingsvorm transformeert.
